Back To The Future – Theatrical Production at Music Hall at Fair Park

Going back in time to the 20th century, a nostalgic time for the current generation, Back To The Future The Musical features the beloved story from the original 80s film and was also adapted for the stage by the previous picture's makers, Bob Gale and Robert Zemeckis. The high-spirited and visually stunning show tells the tale of Marty McFly, a fearless boy who is sent back in time.

The show is set in motion as our main character goes through a typical routine in a young man's life, participating in clubs (mainly in Marty's school band) and spending time with his girlfriend, Jennifer, while still rather nosy of everything he encounters. His curiosity becomes his single liability, as upon meeting Doc Brown on a fateful day, the doctor announces that his genius has enabled him to make the transtemporal device (which turns out to be the DeLorean) work. An unusual hazard that occurs on that day forces Marty to unknowingly use the DeLorean, startling him and moving him backwards to the year 1955. Initially disoriented with the town and people he doesn't know, Marty eventually surmises that to make his way back to his own time, he should also correct events in 1955, and his mother and father who have yet to fall in love, back on target.

With similar creatives from the movie with the same title, each set design of the musical serves as a callback to the sets from the movie, incorporating Doc's lab, the McFly's house, Hill Valley High School, and many locations in the Hill Valley community. Both the stage and outfit design also stay true to the decades they represent. Back To The Future’s transfer to the theater platform allowed it to showcase one of the ultimate franchises ever made, while utilizing adjustments and modernization only possible in a live theater production.
